EMBRACE THE DAWN
The night was fading with the clock
Culling lighter shades of peat;
And I, witness to this unfolding…
My wishful dreams of yester night
Smothered by the load of care
Caused to defer my morning brew
So the pulse of dawn I chose to ride
Then through the veil came morning rays
My listless being promptly aroused….
Onto the window scuttled I
And there beheld the face of beauty-
Radiant, ethereal – love supreme….
Renderings of an almighty hand.
Alas my lease of life restored
The ancient mystery yet confirms
Another cycle of dream-time lore
As in slumbering death duly tromped
By the birth of the rising sun.
